Menu Week One—Project25

Project25 begins for us next Tuesday. The challenge is to whittle our grocery bill down to a bone scraping $25 for a week for two adults. Find below some ideas for the week and the assumption that we will follow through. I will each day post an approximate recipe and the cost as close as I can get. I shopped some sale items from Kroger (chicken) and Fiesta this week and will include them in my costs. NOTE : Kroger and HEB post their weeklies on line but Fiesta does not.

Week One 

Breakfast will be  2 eggs/ toast or oatmeal or egg bean cheese tacos (2) or yogurt cup/ smoothie average of all taken together 1.00 a day

Lunch will be lentil soup crackers or leftovers from night before or tuna sandwich or protein smoothie Snacks will be bananas, string cheese, sunflower seeds  

Tuesday  beef veggie soup (freeze half)                  

Wednesday grilled pork steak green beans glazed carrots

Thursday  Grilled chicken brown rice loaded broccoli (think loaded baked potato except with broccoli)

Friday  chicken tacos with black beans shredded lettuce tomato sauce

Saturday pork loin cucumber salad baked sweet potato  

Sunday meatloaf salad  brown rice   

Monday chicken divan with broccoli  chopped salad
